In November 1985 Tanya was one of five anti-Apartheid protestors thrown out of the National Press Club in Canberra, where the ambassador of the racist South African regime was giving a speech. As you can hear, Tanya and her comrades from Women Against Racism had a short speech prepared which they attempted to deliver as soon as the ambassador started to talk.

Each of the protestors had the same speech on a piece of card. As one protestor was expelled, the next would stand up and continue the speech.

The expelled protestors joined the rally outside the Press Club:

The Canberra Times reported on the protest inside as well as the remarks of the racist regime’s ambassador.
